Meadowbrook and Pomerado Street Corner - Accident waiting to happen

It amazes me that people have forgotten basic driving laws when it comes to the corner of Meadowbrook and Pomerado.

It amazes me that people have forgotten basic driving laws when it comes to the corner of Meadowbrook and Pomerado. I see kids crossing the street, parents stopping in the middle of the street to drop of their kids, drivers blowing through the red light to make the turn and speeding to make the green light. There are children around and the area on Meadowbrook is a residential area as well as a school zone. I don't understand why you want to put OUR children at RISK.

Some simple reminders from the DMV:

Solid Red– A red signal light means "STOP." You can make a right turn against a red light after you stop then yield to pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles close enough to be a hazard. Make the right turn only when it is safe. Do not turn if a "NO TURN ON RED" sign is posted. (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/traff_lgts_sgns.htm)

I will be contacting the city, Meadowbrook Junior High and the Sheriffs office to find out what can be done, if this can save one child it will be worth it.
