Street Scene: Poway Days Festival Turns 50 This Year

Sunday's festival will have the familiar attractions, plus a new beer garden featuring tastings of local brews.

The 50th annual Poway Days Festival will take over Midland Road between Poway Road and Hilleary Place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring various food trucks and vendors, live music, rows of booths and activities for the whole family.

Hosted by the Poway Chamber of Commerce, the festival will be a celebration of all things Poway.

“We are proud to present the 50th Annual Poway Days Festival. This event is a special opportunity for both business and community to come together to celebrate Poway,” said Dolores Canizales, Poway Chamber president and CEO.

The festival will have the familiar vendors that have been featured in years past and displays by the fire and sheriff’s departments, plus the new addition of a local brewery offering tastings of their brews. Close to 150 vendors offering home-improvement items, crafts, safety and health services, pet supplies and who knows what else will be setting up booths on Midland Road.

Among the bands that will be playing on the main stage will be Kanan Road, an acoustic country trio; KV and The Blues Academy playing rockabilly blues; and folk music by Jeffrey Joe. Dr. Zoolittle from the San Diego Zoo will also be on hand dispensing knowledge on wildlife and science.
