Blog: What Is It That Republicans Think They Have Won?

Obstruction and just saying "no" is not a winning strategy. It isn’t a game. But, right now, it’s Democrats vs. Republicans – and the Conservatives are loosing.

Not the presidential election, which Republicans still seem unable to accept. It’s a lot like the Civil War; it has taken more then a century for the South to admit defeat. Please take note: slavery is banned. I wish we could say the same about assault weapons, the filibuster, the death penalty, war, weapons of mass destruction – and Newt Gingrich.

I know you have your own wish list of prohibitions, but I’m just saying . . .

The Republican list includes social welfare programs, such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, abortion rights, equal pay for women, the minimum hourly wage – they would rather pay two employees $4.5 an hour each, than pay one $9.00! Republicans would add to their list: taxes on businesses, universal healthcare, any curb on military spending  – and President Obama.

For now, the Liberals won, folks! You can rewrite the scoreboard however you like, by redistricting, limiting voting hours, electing Tea Party Governors – sticking out your tongue and showing us your middle finger. It won’t do a bit of good, not for the next couple of years. Before the mid-term elections, Republicans had better change their game plan. Obstruction and just saying “no” is not a winning strategy.

The sad fact is, the Republican Party, including the Tea Party, is doing its best to diminish the effectiveness of the conservative argument. Republicans have forgotten their prime objectives: to limit the size of government, create jobs, and reduce the national debt. Many Democrats, myself included, would love to trim the waste, close tax loopholes, bring our troops home, protect our borders, rebuild our infrastructure, and better educate our children – goals we may have in common with Conservatives. At least we would be arguing about our mutual problems, instead of wallowing in social engineering, and cheering for each other’s “team.”

It isn’t a game. But, right now, it’s Republicans vs. Democrats – and the Conservatives are loosing.

The Republicans aren't "loosing", the country is losing by fottowing barry and his regime. The Republicans are trying to slow this descent into becoming a third world country.

that video is almost 4 years old........but thanks for sharing......it shows you the difference between liberals and conservatives..........far left leaning MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is shocked by Obama's plans.........if that was the GWB plan, Sean Hannity would be singing the plans praises.......the left is able to call a pile a crap a pile of crap..........the rightwing KoolAid drinkers just agree how great that pile of crap is...........you all should join the "King has NO clothes" side
