Poway Democratic Club Meeting

The Poway Democratic Club meets at the Community Room is behind Chipotle Mexican Grill and next to the open air amphitheater (map).

Democratic candidates Scott Peters and Lori Saldaña will participate in a forum. At the end of the meeting, the club will vote to determine its endorced candidate for the 52nd CD.

Scott Peters earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and worked as an economist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency before attending New York University School of Law. He served as San Diego's first City Council President and is currently the Chair of the San Diego Unified Port District. He and his wife of 25 years, Lynn, are 22-year residents of the 52nd District. They live in La Jolla and have a daughter and son. Website: www.scottpeters.com

Lori Saldana grew up in Clairemont. She earned her BA and MA from San Diego State University. Lori Chaired the Mayor's Wetlands Advisory Board, Chaired the San Diego Sierra Club, and was appointed by President Clinton to the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission. Elected to the California State Assembly in 2004, Lori served on the Veterans Affairs Committee for 6 years. She co-authored California's landmark Climate Change legislation.
