Chaparral Rummage Sale

Chaparral Educational Foundation (CEF), the nonprofit fundraising organization for Chaparral Elementary School in Poway, is sponsoring a school-wide rummage sale on Saturday, March 24 from 7 to 11 a.m. in the school auditorium. Chaparral is located at 17250 Tannin Drive, Poway, CA 92064.

Last year, the auditorium overflowed with items ranging from board games to dining room sets – and even a backyard play structure. The rummage sale is a cash only event. Donated items will be accepted from school families and the community alike during the week of March 19. Contact Coleen McGrath (cmcgrath1@san.rr.com) or Lisa Harter (theharter4@san.rr.com) or visit the CEF website at www.chaparraledfoundation.com for more information.

Enjoy the hunt for treasures and support CEF in its goal to increase students’ access to technology. Proceeds from the rummage sale will go towards building a new computer lab. Chaparral is the neighborhood school for all of Rancho Bernardo east of the I-15 and north of Rancho Bernardo Road, plus parts of North Poway north of Espola. It is one of Poway Unified School District’s largest elementary schools in terms of student enrollment, yet falls near the bottom of the list in terms of student access to computers. The new computer lab is estimated to cost $80,000.
