Summer Concerts and Insects at Night Crawl Into The Weekend

You made it to the weekend, now what? Patch found weekend events happening July 5-7.

Fireworks maybe over but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end.

Bring your picnic basket and blankets for a concert at Lake Poway. Or stretch and work off those July 4th calories at yoga at the 4S Ranch Library.

SUNSET ARTWALK AT THE BERNARDO WINERY
  • What's Up: Grab a glass of wine and cheers to the first Sunset Artwalk of the year. Bernardo Winery will extend its hours and come alive every Friday night with live music, vendors, local artists and more.
  • When: 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5 and every Friday until Oct. 4.
  • Where: Bernardo Winery, 13330 Paseo Del Verano Norte, Rancho Bernardo.
  • Price: Free. 
FAMILY YOGA
  • What's Up: The library will host a morning session of family yoga. Kids must be 9 and older. Registration is required. 
  • When: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6. 
  • Where: San Diego County 4S Ranch Library, 10433 Reserve Dr., 4S Ranch Library.
  • Price: Free. 
INSECTS AT NIGHT
  • What's Up: Check out creepy, crawly critters up close and personal. Blue Sky will host a special evening of Insects at Night. 
  • When: 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6. 
  • Where: Blue Sky Ecological Reserve 16275 Espola Rd., Poway.
  • Price: Free. 
QUARTET NOUVEAU
  • What's Up: Quartet Nouveau will present The Human Emotion concert series. This concert will focus on the theme of heroism. 
  • When: 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. 
  • Where: Hope United Methodist Church, 16550 Bernardo Heights Pkwy., Rancho Bernardo.
  • Price: Free. 
SHARP MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
  • What's Up: Sharp Memorial Hospital Summer Concert Series will feature the band Gary Seiler & the CoastRiders. The band's music repertoire ranges from beach music to swing and more. Don't forget your picnic blankets and dancing shoes. 
  • When: 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. 
  • Where: Lake Poway, 14644 Lake Poway Rd., Poway.
  • Price: Free. Parking is free to Poway residents and $5 to non-residents.
