Sugar Bean Sisters and Summer Concert Highlight Weekend Events

Summer events are in full swing. Celebrate the last weekend in July, under the sun or stars this weekend. 

Kick off your weekend with a glass of wine and art in Rancho Bernardo or enjoy a free outdoor concert in Poway.

SUNSET ARTWALK

• What's Up: Bernardo Winery will host a Sunset Artwalk featuring vendors, art, wine and more. 
• When: 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26. 
• Where: Bernardo Winery, 13330 Paseo Del Verano Norte, Rancho Bernardo. 
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up: PowPAC, Poway's Community Theatre will present The Sugar Bean Sisters. The story is about two sisters stuck in a swamp and the various characters who stand in their way as they plan their escape. 
• When: 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27; 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. 
• Where: PowPAC, Poway's Community Theatre, 13250 Poway Rd., Poway.
• Price: $15-$18. 

• What's Up: Grab your tents, sleeping bags and s'mores and head to Lake Poway. Family Campouts at Lake Poway will feature led night hikes, campfire activities, fishing and pedal boating. 
• When: 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. 
• Where: Lake Poway, 14644 Lake Poway Rd., Poway. 
• Price: $52 for Poway residents and $62 for non-residents for a family of five. 

• What's Up: Blue Sky's Flora and Fauna will explore animals and plants on a fun-filled hike through the reserve. 
• When: 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 28. 
• Where: Blue Sky Ecological Reserve 16275 Espola Rd., Poway.
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up: Pack your picnic baskets and dancing shoes for an afternoon of live music and fun. The summer concert series will feature local entertainment.  
• When: 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. 
• Where: Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Rd., Poway.
• Price: Free.
