Storm, Winds to Return Wednesday

According to the National Weather Service, another storm will linger in Wednesday afternoon.

1. Another storm is expected to hit San Diego County later Wednesday, bringing with it gusty winds but not much rain. According to the National Weather Service, light showers will linger into Wednesday and winds will be especially strong in the mountains and deserts. Also, the snow level is expected to lower to about 4,000 to 4,500 feet Wednesday night.

2. The pilot of a Coast Guard patrol vessel that crashed into a smaller boat in San Diego Bay killing a Rancho Penasquitos boy, has been convicted of dereliction of duty. A Coast Guard jury in Alameda deliberated for about a day before acquitting 22-year-old Boatswain Mate Third Class Paul Ramos of more serious charges of negligent homicide and involuntary manslaughter.

3. It's back to business as usual Wednesday at the El Cajon courthouse where an unexpected loss of power and phone service prompted court officials to shut down operations yesterday. Court officials say anyone who was scheduled to appear yesterday on traffic cases or misdemeanor arraignments should come back within seven calendar days to have their case heard.
