Soggy Sunday Drops Close to a Half Inch of Rain in Parts of Poway

The National Weather Service reports that .44 inches fell in south Poway.

As expected, wind and rain swept through Poway on Sunday, but skies cleared in time for the Monday-morning commute.

On the National Weather Service’s website there are two observation stations in Poway reporting rainfall totals: one near Pomerado Road and Stonemill Drive that collected .44 inches of rain, and one near Poway Road and Silver Ridge Road that collected .33 inches on Sunday.

No more rain is in the forecast this week, but winds are expected to pick up on Tuesday and nighttime fog could roll in. The National Weather Service forecast for Poway:

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Monday night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming west between 10 and 15 mph. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 50. West wind between 10 and 15 mph becoming calm. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming west between 10 and 15 mph. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 49.

Thursday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 67.

Thursday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 50.
