Isolated flash flooding is also possible, the agency said.

1. Scattered showers and thunderstorms were expected in San Diego County on Tuesday. Isolated flash flooding was also possible, the agency said. Forecasters said most of the precipitation would be light but there could be brief periods of heavy rainfall.

2. A magnitude-3.0 earthquake was recorded near the Mexico border about 100 miles east of San Diego on Monday, according to the U.S.
Geological Survey. The shaking, recorded at 1:02 p.m., was centered about 19 miles south southwest of Guadelupe Victoria in Baja California and probably an aftershock to the magnitude-7.2 quake that struck near there on Easter Day 2010.

3. Good Samaritans rescued two boaters after their craft caught fire and sank off the coast of Point Loma, the U.S. Coast Guard said Monday. The blaze broke out on a 60-foot boat about 2:30 p.m. Sunday about 13 miles west of Point Loma, according to USCG Petty Officer 1st Class Allyson Conroy. Occupants of another boat spotted the flames and pulled the two boaters from the water.
