S.D. to L.A. Flights Cost More Than L.A. to London

A survey by The San Diego Union-Tribune reveals interesting airfare information.

Flying from San Diego to Los Angeles costs more than a connecting flight to Europe, it was reported Saturday.

According to a survey by The San Diego Union-Tribune, a one-way ticket from San Diego's Lindbergh Field to LAX costs a minimum of $577. The flight costs more than a flight from LAX to London, which can be had for as little as $316.

But a spokesperson for one airline told the Union-Tribune most of the passengers flying on the route are going to or from San Diego to another city, with an LAX connection, and do not pay the full fare.

As for cheaper ways to get between the two cities, the Amtrak Surfliner charges $31 for service between the two downtown stations, and the LAX Fly-Away bus connects with nonstop service to the big airport for $7.
