San Diego County Gas Prices Fall Slightly

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline fell four-tenths of a cent.

1. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell four-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.254, the fourth daily decrease. The average price is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, but 10.6 cents more than one month ago and $1.104 greater than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price fell a half-cent Saturday and eight-tenths of a cent both Sunday and Monday.

2. A $4.84 billion spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year is being presented to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors Tuesday. The plan calls for 153 jobs to be cut for a variety of reasons. The hardest-hit departments are the Office of the Public Defender, which will lose 55 jobs, Planning and Land Use, which will drop 32 positions and the District Attorney's Office, with a loss of 31 positions.

3. It will be partly cloudy throughout the county Tuesday with a slight chance of showers in the morning. Highs will be 59 to 64 near the foothills in Poway.
