San Diego County Gas Prices Drop Below $4

The average price of regular unleaded gasoline dropped below $4 for the first time since March 25.

1. A nursing student who took off after fatally striking a man walking on a freeway on a rainy night in Rancho Penasquitos was sentenced Friday to a year in county jail and three years probation. Nicoll Koval, 23, pleaded guilty in March to felony hit-and-run causing death.

2. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped below $4 for the first time since March 25 Saturday, decreasing 1 cent to $3.995. The 28th consecutive daily decline dropped the average price 4.6 cents
below what it was one week ago and 26.6 cents lower than a month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. However, the price is 98.6 cents higher than a year ago.

3. More than 32,000 runners are expected to take part in Sunday's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon over San Diego streets that will be lined with about 45 live bands and cheerleaders. Are you going to participate? Let us know!
