San Diego County Gas Prices Continue to Fall

Gas prices fell for the 26th consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.012.

A seventh-grader from San Diego's Francis Parker School advanced Wednesday to the semifinals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, making her the only California contestant remaining in the competition. A groundbreaking was held Wednesday for the Aztec Student Union at San Diego State University, which will replace the 43-year-old Aztec Center. SDSU President Stephen Weber said, "The new Aztec Student Union was a vision developed by San Diego State students who wanted a place that would instill community and school pride for San Diego State's 30,000 students. They wanted a center that is sustainable and responsible to the environment and future generations -- and the students voted to make this happen.''

3. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell Thursday for the 26th consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.012. The average price is 5.4 cents less than one week ago and 23.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 99.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
