San Diego Chargers to Present NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award

1. The San Diego Charges will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Qualcomm Stadium with halftime performances by Mariachi Real de San Diego and traditional ballet folklorico dancers from Chula Vista. Ruben Barrales, president and chief executive officer of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be presented with the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.

2. The FBI and local law enforcement agencies sought the public's help Saturday to identify a suspect, dubbed the "Well Dressed Bandit,'' believed to be responsible for 10 bank robberies throughout the county since May 2010. The latest in the series of robberies happened Friday evening at a Chase Bank branch in the 9400 block of Scranton Road in Sorrento Valley, which investigators believed the suspect had robbed the twice last year, on Sept. 7 and Nov. 5 of 2010, according to FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth.

3. Sheriff's deputies arrested 33 wanted fugitives Saturday in a warrant sweep in the east county region, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported. The 7-hour operation began at 6 a.m. and the San Diego Sheriff's Department Court Services, Field Unit, and the San Diego Fugitive Task Force covered the cities of El Cajon, La Mesa and Santee as well as unincorporated areas of El Cajon, Alpine and Lakeside, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Trinidad Tejeda.
