home in La Jolla to make way for an 11,000-square-foot house, it was reported Saturday. The former Massachusetts governor, in the area for fundraisers this weekend, bought the three bedroom, oceanfront house built in 1936 at 311 Dunemere Drive about three years ago, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. The home in the ``Barber tract'' neighborhood was once owned by former San Diego Mayor Maureen O'Connor and her late husband, Bob Peterson, founder of
Jack-in-the-Box.

2. A man who struck a recycling business employee and stole his cell phone in an attempt to rob the business was sought by police Saturday, San Diego police said. The suspect allegedly followed an employee into Earth Wiz, 9999 Carmel Mountain Road, at about 8:45 a.m., Friday, police said. The suspect reportedly struck the employee and demanded cash.

3. A man and a woman have been arrested for allegedly kicking and punching a 21-year-old woman, then dragging by her hair from a car
and leaving her naked on a freeway near Lemon Grove, San Diego police said Saturday. Catherine R. McCoy, 47, and Christopher R. Carrera, 32, were arrested Friday, police said. Carrera was arrested without incident in Chula Vista and McCoy was arrested as she was inside a vehicle that police stopped near San Diego State University. Read the full story on .
