Regional Plan to Go Before SANDAG Board of Directors

1. The San Diego Association of Governments board of directors will meet today from 9 a.m. until noon. A $196 billion plan for the region’s transportation system over the next 40 years will go before the board. The Draft 2050 Regional Transportation Plan maps out a system designed to maximize transit enhancements, integrate biking and walking elements, and promote programs to reduce demand and increase efficiency. SANDAG board room is located on the seventh floor, 401 B St. in downtown San Diego. See attached agenda.

2. Palomar Pomerado Health will celebrate Earth Day with an event that will connect the environment with human health and include a screening of the film Tapped. Proceedings begin at 11 a.m. at 555 E. Valley Parkway in Escondido.

3. Arraignment is scheduled for Stephen Dragasits, a 58-year-old transient accused of shooting a 21-year-old USD student driving in her car on state Route 163, and firing a shot into another car on the same stretch of freeway. He was arrested Wednesday after DNA samples flagged him as a suspect. Arraignment will take place in Department 12 of the San Diego County Courthouse.
