Rebecca Zahau Autopsy Findings to be Available in 10 Days

A second autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.

1. A second autopsy was scheduled for Thursday on the remains of a woman found hanged at a historic Coronado estate last summer in what was ruled a suicide. At the behest of family members who dispute the ruling, the body of
Rebecca Zahau was exhumed this week from a cemetery in St. Joseph, Mo., and transported to Pennsylvania for the independent postmortem examination, said Dr. Cyril Wecht, the high-profile forensic pathologist who will lead the examination. He said his findings should be available in about 10 days. Find full coverage at Coronado.Patch.com

2. Police in riot gear cleared Occupy San Diego protestors out of the city of San Diego's Civic Center Plaza early Friday making some arrests in the process. San Diego police say they launched the operation at around 2 this morning after officials declared the three-week-old event an unlawful assembly. The clearing lasted about 45 minutes. Makeshift campsites have been steadily increasing this week even though protestors were forced to take them down two weeks ago. Protestors are reported to be planning to re-assemble later this morning for a solidarity march from Civic Center Plaza to the Wells Fargo Building.

3. It's homecoming day for the USS Howard. The guided-missile destroyer
and its crew of about 300 are scheduled to return home to San Diego  Friday from a seven-month deployment. According to the Navy, the Howard has spent the past seven months in the Western Pacific and Middle East, fighting pirates and participating in community relations events.
