Power was restored to parts of Poway around 11 p.m. after an Arizona operator error turned off the lights in San Diego County and parts of Orange County, Arizona and Mexico.
According to SDG&E President Mike Niggli, the restoration process began immediately after the power outage took place. At a 10 p.m. press conference, Niggli said nine substations, which are electrical distribution points, have "partial restoration" and 37 of the estimated 900 circuits have been "re-energized."
The news of power being restored in Poway comes after county officials confirmed that the outage happened when an Arizona Public Service employee carried out a "procedure" in a substation located northeast of Yuma.
