Poway Forecast Calls for Sunny Start to 2013

Saturday's showers dropped .11 of an inch of rain on Poway.

The scattered showers that swept through San Diego County Saturday sprinkled Poway with .11 of an inch of rain, compared with .32 that fell on Mt. Woodson and .28 in Ramona, according to National Weather Service records.

The system has passed through, with a few drops still possible Sunday afternoon, and sunny skies dominate the forecast for the start of 2013.

Sunday afternoon: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. South wind around 5 mph becoming west.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Light northeast wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 56. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the evening.

New Year’s Day: Sunny, with a high near 60. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41.
