About 100 people gathered along Poway Road on Thursday morning to honor Lance Cpl. Jason Hill.

The honor line—which was held at the —attracted Marines, elected officials and fellow Powegians who simply wanted to pay tribute to one of their own.

Hill—an Abraxas High graduate who was killed in combat in Afghanistan June 11—was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force. He was killed in the Helmand Province. Hill was 20 years old and is survived by his parents and two brothers.
