Pathologist Tells Dr. Phil He Doubts Rebecca Zahau Committed Suicide

Dr. Cyril Wecht says he has "grave and serious doubts" that the woman found dead in a Coronado mansion killed herself.

In a television interview aired Tuesday, a prominent forensic pathologist who conducted a second autopsy on the body of a woman found hanged at the historic Spreckels Mansion in Coronado challenged the official ruling of suicide in the case. During his appearance on the "Dr. Phil" program, investigative consultant Cyril Wecht urged San Diego County authorities to reclassify the manner of 32-year-old Rebecca Zahau's death last summer to "undetermined," telling show host Phil McGraw there was reason for "grave and serious doubts" that she killed herself. 2. Law enforcement personnel in riot gear cleared out several Occupy San Diego protesters from the city of San Diego's Civic Center Plaza early Wednesday morning, marking the second such crackdown in nearly three weeks. Police say some protesters were arrested during the 3 a.m. sweep but they've yet to disclose the alleged offenses, names and exact number of those arrested. Left behind in the plaza at this hour is a slew of rubbish, ranging from used plastic containers to clothing and other makeshift camping gear. A cleaning crew is expected to tackle the mess after sunrise.

3. San Diego County's annual required contribution to its employee pension system nearly tripled between fiscal years 2000 and 2010, the San Diego County Taxpayers Association reported Tuesday. The county had to chip in $98 million in 2000 to pay for worker retirements, a figure that had grown to $287 million a decade later, according to the report, which listed the system's debt at $1.9 billion.
