Low-Cost Ride Program Launches for Poway Seniors
A new dial-a-ride program could make transportation easier for area seniors.
Transportation could soon become easier for some North County seniors with the launch of a low-cost dial-a-ride program to serve Escondido, Poway and Rancho Bernardo residents, officials said Friday.
RideFACT was billed as a general purpose dial-a-ride program for those over 60. Transportation will be available weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Fees will be based on the distance traveled, which will start at $4 for up to five miles, $8 for up to 10 miles, $12 for up to 15 miles and distances over 15 miles will cost $15, officials said. The program was subsidized by a county TransNet Senior Mini-Grant.
