Keep Umbrellas Handy: More Rain on the Way

The forecast for the rest of the week warns of rain and gusty winds, but skies should clear in time for Sunday's Spring Festival.

More wet and windy weather is expected in Poway beginning Tuesday night and lasting through the weekend, the National Weather Service is forecasting.

The dry skies and calm winds are expected to give way to showers and gusty winds after 11 p.m. Tuesday. The NWS forecast says there is a 100 percent chance of rain on Wednesday, and wind gusts could hit 25 mph.

Showers could last all the way through Saturday, but sunny skies are expected to return Sunday in time for the Poway Spring Festival on Sunday.

The National Weather Service forecast for Poway:

Tuesday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming west between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday night: Rain likely after 11pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 49. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Wednesday: Showers. High near 58. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. West wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming west between 5 and 10 mph.

Thursday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Friday: Showers. High near 58. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
