Hundreds Expected to Participate in May Day March

The marchers will come together to call for immigration reform.

1. A coalition of labor, Latino and socialist organizations will band together for a series of rallies Sunday to call for immigration reform. The groups will gather at noon at Centro Cultural de la Raza in Balboa Park and at 1 p.m., march to the downtown Federal Building on Front Street for a 2 p.m. rally in the city of San Diego.

Recent estimates put the number of illegal immigrants in the United States around 11 million, and immigration reform groups want the government to create an alternate way for those already here to become citizens.

2. The release of President Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate may have placated Donald Trump, but it has not satisfied North County attorney Gary Kreep who said he will press ahead with his case before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday. For more, visit Ramona.Patch.com.
