FBI Agents Search for 'Mr. Magoo Bandit'

Authorities have linked the bank robber to 12 armed robberies in California.

1. FBI agents in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco are searching for a bank robber they have dubbed the "Mr. Magoo Bandit" and whom they have linked to 12 armed robberies up and down the Golden State, an FBI agent said Saturday. Bank surveillance pictures of the an have been released, as sheriff's deputies in Ventura County and the FBI added another robbery to the list of heists attributed to the man. The latest robbery was on Oct. 8 in Thousand Oaks, just west of the L.A.-Ventura county line.

2. About 500 activists, some chanting and carrying signs, marched Saturday from Civic Center Plaza to Balboa Park and back as part of the "Occupy San Diego" protest against perceived political and financial wrongdoing, according to the event's organizers. The march through downtown San Diego on the eighth day of the protest marked a return to peaceful assembly following recent clashes with police who told protesters to remove their tents, tables and other equipment from the Community Concourse.

3. San Diego police arrested two men Saturday who were found in the back of a U-Haul truck with a stolen ATM, and sought a third suspect in connection with the theft, police said. The ATM was stolen about 4:30 a.m. from the Seafood City Supermarket, at 8955 Mira Mesa Boulevard, according to San Diego police.
