Family Rejects Suicide Finding in Rebecca Zahau Death

1. Authorities are expected to announce Friday that a woman found dead inside her boyfriend's historic Coronado mansion committed suicide. 2. A bill by Sen. Juan Vargas, D-Chula Vista, to require developers of big box superstores to file economic impact reports before they
can build in California cleared the Legislature Thursday and was on the way to Gov. Jerry Brown's desk. The vote in the Assembly was 43-28 to pass the Small and Neighborhood Business Protection Act. The Senate vote on May 31 was 21-14.

3. The U.S. Department of Labor Thursday announced a settlement agreement with a national roofing company and 14 affiliated firms—including one in San Diego—requiring the implementation of a uniform health and safety program designed to improve employee training and work-site inspections, among other things. The settlement agreement with Nations Roof LLC and Nations Roof of New
England LLC resolves litigation stemming from citations issued to the New England-based company by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for hazards at a Hudson, N.H. work site.
