Deputy District Attorney Dies From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Christine Trevino died Thursday, according to authorities.

1. A San Diego County Deputy District Attorney died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound during a traffic stop in Oceanside, police said Friday. Christine Trevino, 51, died about 6:35 p.m. Thursday, according to Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Mata.

2. A recently released sexually violent predator with brain cancer, who is under 24-hour supervision, was placed in a Campo residence, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department and Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Task Force went door-to-door Thursday morning to notify area residents that Frank William Johnson, 53, was living in the 33000 block of Shockey Truck Trail, following his release Wednesday from Coalinga State Hospital.

3. An eighth-grader who collapsed during a dance at her San Marcos middle school in June died of natural causes, authorities reported Friday. Sabrina Renee Keller, 14, reportedly collapsed and became unresponsive at a school dance June 9. A bystander began resuscitation efforts and 911 was called, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
