County Announces $250K In Unclaimed Refunds

About 900 accounts of both individuals and businesses contain money that can be claimed, according to the county's Treasurer-Tax Collector.

1. San Diego County is sitting on $250,000 in unclaimed refunds, leading Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister Wednesday to urge anyone who has done business with the county recently to check to see if they are on the list. About 900 accounts of both individuals and businesses contain money that can be claimed, McAllister said. More than half the dollar total is from property tax refunds.

2. Work on the San Diego County Water Authority's largest water storage project is well under way with construction of an auxiliary dam to hold back water in the San Vicente Reservoir, the agency announced Wednesday. The authority plans to raise the height of the main dam by 117 feet this fall and double the capacity of water in the reservoir.

3. The Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl announced that tickets for this year's college football post-season game will go on sale to the general public on Friday. The 34th annual game will be held Dec. 28, featuring teams from the Pacific-12 and Big 12 conferences. Prices will range from $60 to $75.
