Yogurt and Young’uns: Dessert Shop Is Dream Come True for Businesswoman

Sandy Patag prefers the frozen yogurt shop to nursing because she gets to spend more time with family.

Sandy Patag doesn’t believe there can ever be too much of a good thing—especially when it comes to frozen yogurt. That’s why she partnered with her sister, Arlene Clattenburg, three years ago and opened .

“Me and my sister love yogurt—we were eating yogurt every day,” said Patag, who used to live on Carriage Road.

Patag credits her regular patrons for their success, especially out-of-season.

“Even when it’s raining outside we have the same customers every day,” she said.

The mother of three says owning the business has allowed her spend more time with family—something she couldn’t do when she worked as a nurse.

“I wanted to find a way to spend time with my children,” she said. “That’s why they’re always here with me.”

In fact, 4-year-old Siona and 7-year-old Sage often help out by stamping the frequent buyer cards or wiping down tables. As for 18-month-old Brandon, he’s still figuring out how best to chip in.

“He just likes to make a mess and try the flavors,” said Patag, smiling.
