Poway Kitchen One of 14 to be Featured in Design Tour this Weekend

Designs will range from classic to contemporary in this self-guided kitchen tour hosted by the American Society of Interior Designers.

A clean kitchen may be a sign of a wasted life, but there’s an exception to every rule.

This weekend the San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is hosting a self-guided kitchen tour, which will highlight 14 spotless sculleries throughout the county.

“These kitchens represent the entire gamut of up-to-the-minute design―European minimalism, nostalgic arts-and-crafts, authentic Tuscan, sleek mid-century and opulent country …” said Tatiana Machado-Rosas, the event chair and a participating designer.

Using a variety of colors from sedate tones to what Machado-Rosas calls “eye-popping brights,” designers like Poway’s Bertha Hernandez demonstrate how to transform lifeless kitchens with poorly used spaces into multifunctional, stylish rooms.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and the kitchen in Poway is located at 16317 Avenida Florencia. Addresses to the other 13 locations will be listed on the ASID website the Thursday before the event. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online or at each site.
