Poway Denny's Closes Suddenly

The restaurant suddenly closed on Sunday.

The Denny's at 12207 Poway Rd. suddenly closed earlier this week, leaving many locals wondering just what happened.

A customer service representative from Denny's corporate offices said the restaurant's franchise agreement expires Nov. 30 and had not been signed for renewal, but the location closed early on Nov. 11. The representative said she did not have any information about why the franchise closed early.

The restaurant has a one-sheet message on its front door saying, "CLOSED SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE."

No one at Rednab Inc., identified as the franchise owners, could immediately be reached for comment.

Never worked there, just a customer. Everytime I went, thought I'd give it another chance..always disappointed. Worth the drive to RB Denny's.

I'm surprised. They were always busy... It's just sad to see so many businesses closing. :(

Kountry Kafe is pretty good also.

I have to agree with you. It seems like all we are getting are corporations. This Denny's had been here so long that they would even make substitutions etc. Their service had improved and prices were affordable for most everyone. Have seem so many favorites have to leave Poway.

One word: Obamacare!
Barbarab November 17, 2012 at 06:57 PM
Apparently that one derogatory comment was from one of the 50% who want free stuff and are on government assistance so can't sympathize with the thousands of people across the country who will be out of work as a result of Obamacare. You wanted him you got him. Enjoy.

While Cullys and Kountry Kafe are fine, they close in mid-afternoon and are not around for evening and late-night food like Denny's.
Mr Wise November 18, 2012 at 02:35 PM
@ Bardarab- Wow, another GOP sore loser:) Let's end the corporate welfare for Corpirations and rich people who think that taxes are only for he middle class nd the poor. The free ride is over ....
Dale November 18, 2012 at 06:46 PM
Mr Wise, With all due respect, your spelling is atrocious. Maybe your guy Obama could pay more attention to the education of America and they wouldn't become grown adults who can't spell. Like Barb said, enjoy.

Finding a place to eat at dinner has never been a problem in our area. Most folks who went to Denny's went for breakfast, early lunch. Try the Denny's in RB. Great service, great food.

Denny's Mira Mesa is always decent.

And I don't doubt is has something to do with health care requirements. That may happen to lots of businesses.
Mario November 24, 2012 at 12:45 AM
This Denny's closed because the owner of the building and the Franchisee owner couldn't come to an agreement on the new lease. Nothing to do with Obama.

Nonsense. The Affordable care Act employee coverage for companies with 50+ employees doesn't even start until 2014. And upping the cost of items a couple of pennies would cover that when it does start.
