Dunkin' Donuts Plans to Sweeten Southern California in 2015

The donut shop's CEO announced plans for franchises in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County and other locations throughout Southern California on Wednesday.

Dunkin' Donuts is finally coming to California.

CEO Nigel Travis announced in a company blog post Wednesday that the donut shop is seeking franchisees throughout Southern California, including San Diego, for a 2015 open.

Travis said the announcement marked "an extremely happy and momentous day."

"I hear requests to come to California almost every day from our fans on the West Coast and all throughout the country," Travis said in the post.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be coming to California. Expansion to the West Coast has always been part of our growth plans, and we’ve always said that we will enter California when the timing is right and when the infrastructure is in place to help our franchisees be successful. We believe we have reached that point today."

According to the blog post, Dunkin' Donuts is looking for franchisees in: San Diego,  Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Orange Counties.

The company opened a location on Camp Pendleton in San Diego County last year.
