City Council to Discuss Sign Code Committee

So far, 15 people have applied to join the Sign Code Committee to improve business relations.

The attempt to improve the sign code for local businesses is expected to take another step forward at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

Staff will present council members with a report from the Sign Code Advisory Committee, which received the OK to move forward at the . The report will include that the city has received 15 applications for the seven seats available—each of which have certain criteria. Though the city received 15 applications, according to the report, the city still needs a business park representative, a sign contractor and a owner/manager of a Poway business.

Tuesday's agenda also includes the recommendation to adopt two resolutions—one allowing St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church two more years to expand its location and another to establish a commercial auto body shop on Gregg Street.
