Best Fitness Center in Poway: Jazzercise

She got it from her mama.

Linda Carillo, owner of the Poway Premium Partners' winner Jazzercise, fell in love with the workout when her mom took her to a class. Now, it's been more than three years since she opened shop.

Despite having opened during a recession—Carillo found success.

"I combined my existing classes into one central location as the Poway Jazzercise Fitness Center in the middle of the worst economic recession in my lifetime," she said. "Recession or not, we added 50 new customers in our first month. I found that my clientele want to get in shape for whatever life brings their way."

Carillo said the key to achievement is finding "something you love to do" and to "treat each customer with courtesy and respect—celebrate their successes and soon you will be celebrating yours."
