For more than 30 years, the has brought award-winning productions to Poway.
PowPAC, a Poway Premium Partners' winner, was created when several Powegians felt the city needed a community theatre. After experimenting with different venues, PowPAC found its home in the Lively Center on Poway Road in 1996.
Now, the theatre is going strong.
"Fortunately, PowPAC has not seen any serious loss of ticket revenues due to the recession," said the theatre's Lynn Wolsey. "Since we offer first-rate theater at a low cost and right in the neighborhood, and since we couple this with discounts at local restaurants, our patrons find it easy and convenient to have a night out and enjoy live theater."
But the nonprofit theatre really relies on its volunteers, said Wolsey.
"For volunteers, come to a show. We hope you’ll be bitten by the theater bug and become part of our active PowPAC family," she said. "We have roles for everyone, from working in the office to helping on the construction and painting crews, to running lights and sound, in addition to acting on our stage."
