Best Bar in Poway: Company Pub & Kitchen

Good food, good deals and good music have driven to find success in a short seven months in Poway.

The restaurant, which is owned by Peter Green and won the Poway Premium Partners poll for Best Bar in Poway, said there's no specific or easy answer on how to survive through the recession but he does his best to please his customers, buy local and support the community when he can.

"For example we now promote Monday nights as Blue Monday's, where we offer a great deal for a hearty meat and potatoes dinner plus a beer for $2," he said. "We hope the prices and blues music will drive the 'blues' away."

Green, who has "held just about every position there is in the restaurant business," said he looks to one great book for business advice.

"I have a copy of The 10 Commandments For Managing A Young Growing Business above my desk," he said. "It was written by a good friend—one of the smartest guys I know. I would be happy to share them with any budding entrepreneur."
