Five Places to Watch the Super Bowl in Poway

Celebrate game day at these local bars.

Gear up for the big game on Super Bowl Sunday with some good food and good company at these Poway bars and restaurants. Several local places will celebrate with drink specials while others are simply great places to cheer on your favorite team.

If you would rather stay home with family and friends, watch the New York Giants and New England Patriots go head-to-head at 3 p.m. on NBC San Diego.

: Watch the game at this family-friendly restaurant on one of its eight big-screen HD televisions. The brand new place, which opened in December, will party it up with a deejay for the special day. Enjoy the sports bar atmosphere with a large U-shaped bar, pool tables, dart boards, arcade games and a digital jukebox. The dog-friendly establishment also has a heated outdoor patio for entertainment and cigar smoking.

 Have fun on game day with a taste of authentic southern barbecue and beer. The family-owned restaurant offers 16 beers on tap and a variety of meat dishes with in-house savory barbecue sauces. The house features signed footballs, helmets, and jerseys. And if you want to celebrate with some privacy, there is a dining room available for rent.

: Enjoy a Super Bowl party at the oldest bar in Poway with free barbecue, drink specials and prize drawings. Drink specials include Aguave Tequilla for $2 or a pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon Draft Beer for $2.50. The bar will pregame with breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m., featuring eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage and New York steak.

: Enjoy a modern gastropub with some high-end beer, spirits and quality cuisine. The homey bistro offers a fun and relaxing atmosphere—featuring a bar with a number of televisions, a dart board and a jukebox. In addition, there’s a heated outdoor patio that’s dog-friendly.

: Check out localized New American dishes at this trendy restaurant, which offers a full upscale bar, cozy lounge area, indoor fireplace and outdoor seating. Don’t let the fancy menu intimidate you—the goal of the restaurant is to provide a fine dining experience no matter how you’re dressed, even if it’s for Super Bowl game day.
