Girl Scout Flash Mobs Wanna Dance With Somebody

Since they started in May 2011, the various troops have performed at Starbucks, the Farmers Market and Old Poway Park.

Whitney Houston may be gone, but there are still plenty of people dancing to her unforgettable tunes. Take Girl Scout Troop 8269, for example.

As a fun way to spread Girl Scout awareness, Ambassador Troop 8269 was joined by several others in Poway to perform a flash mob at various locations throughout the city.

Their song of choice? Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody—which was organized and choreographed by Poway High School seniors Devon Thompson, Carly Thompson (no relation) and Kait Pfeil, with support from Addie Kern and Sleepless Pacific’s Robin Morris.

“The girls wanted something upbeat and positive,” said Betsy Morris, Troop leader since most of the girls were in first grade.
