Getting Sara Married by Sam Bobrick

Sara Hastings is a single lawyer in her mid-thirties, living in New York. Marriage is the furthest thing from her mind, because she's much too involved with her career to consider letting a man take up either her time or her living space. But unbeknownst to Sara, her eccentric Aunt Martha decides to take matters into her own hands and has Brandon Cates, a young Financial Planner, knocked unconscious and delivered to Sara’s apartment. There’s just one problem: Brandon is already engaged to another woman! This little detail does not deter the doting aunt in this hilarious romp that pits decision against determination.

Getting Sara Married, penned by Sam Bobrick, is “…a bright and breezy evening of delightful theatre... and a great change of pace from the daily news and the rest of the world. Don't miss it,” says Dick Kerkes of the Theatre Jacksonville Review. The show will remind you of a Neil Simon comedy and contains lots of one-line “zingers.” For those of you who care, there is not a dirty word uttered by anyone in this play. The action is continuous and the show packs a fun-filled punch that will leave the audience feeling good.

Bobrick, a long time playwright, cut his teeth writing television comedy on shows such as “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Bewitched” and “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.” Getting Sara Married is directed by Jay Mower and produced by Joel Colbourn through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. The cast includes Rhiannon M. Jones as Sara Hastings, Lee Donnelly as Aunt Martha, Tony Bejarano as Noogie Malloy and the Chiropractor, Daniel Sky as Brandon Cates and Alayne Lewis as Heather Boyd.
