The 20th Annual Boardwalk Craft Market is now underway in Old Poway Park on the first and third Saturday of the month thru August. Starting in Sepetmber, the event will expand to every Saturday until Christmas.

This juried show and sale features contemporary Southern California artists who work in traditional arts and crafts: wood, metal, glass, clay, fabric, fibers, soap making, painting and photography. For more information call (858) 486-3497 or see www.poway.org/oldpowaypark.

Old Poway Park, the City of Poway's award winning heritage park, uses living history to show how knowledge of the past can enrich lives today. The park celebrates life in America at the turn of the 20th Century when the Arts & Crafts Movement inspired a handcraft revival influencing architecture, jewelry, fashion and home furnishings around the world.

Artists who participate in the Boardwalk Craft Market are  juried on a high standard of craftsmanship and creativity. In keeping with the park's living history theme, their work must show a connection to traditional arts and crafts of the past.

The Boardwalk Craft Market takes place rain or shine on the park's roofed south boardwalk surrounding the Poway Historical Society's Heritage Museum. Other events in Old Poway Park on Saturday mornings include the Farmers Market from 8 am to 11:30 am and the Poway Midland Railroad's steam locomotive, trolley and speeder car operations from 10 am to 4 pm.
