“There is really no better place than a center for performing arts to premiere this piece,” Glick said. “ ‘Carol-Ann’ is a dancer. It’s the perfect place.”

“Carol-Ann” is fire art, constructed from the creative mind of Glick using a plein air portrait of a nude woman then using water, paint thinner and a flammable concoction made up by Glick. The method is complex and intriguing.

“As it burns, it crisps,” Glick said. “Some people say it looks like an x-ray.”

This artists’ reception is being sponsored by the La Jolla Art Association, a non-profit since 1918 that helps promote local artists and their work.

This free art show will be held June 10 at the Poway Center for Performing Arts from 2-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and if you like what you see, art can be purchased from the participating artists.
