THE KUMEYAAY – FROM PAST TO PRESENT

  • What's Up: Docent John Kordela will discuss how the the Kumeyaay used Blue Sky Ecological Reserve for shelter, to gather food, and find medicine. 
  • When: 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. 
  • Where: Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, 16275 Espola Rd, Poway.

ESCONDIDO ROOTS SERIES CELEBRATES VIETNAM

  • What's Up: Escondido Roots Series Celebrates Vietnam with a day filled with performances activities, food and more!
  • When: 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23.
  • Where: San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum, 320 N Broadway, Escondido.
  • Price: Free. 

RICKY NELSON REMEMBERED AND JOHN DENVER TRIBUTE

  • What's Up: Two musicians will be honored during one concert. Matthew and Gunnar Nelson will pay tribute to their father Ricky Nelson and Jim Curry and his band will recreate the sounds John Denver. 
  • When: 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23.
  • Where: Concert Hall, California Center for the Arts, 340 N Escondido Blvd, Escondido.

QUARTET NOUVEAU PRESENTS THE HUMAN EMOTION CONCERT SERIES

  • What's Up: Quartet Nouveau will play their first concert in their series called The Human Emotion. Listen to the sounds of string instruments express love through music.

JOHNNY CASH BIRTHDAY BASH

  • What's Up: The Walking Phoenixes, a Johnny Cash Tribute band based out of Los Angeles will celebrate Johnny Cash's Birthday in Poway.
  • When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24.
  • Where: Poway Center for the Performing Arts, 15498 Espola Rd, Poway.
  • Price: $10-$20.
