Veterans Day: Posting of the Colors at the Park
The public ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
At Veterans Park on the 11th hour of 11th day of the 11th month, the tradition of Posting the Colors will be observed by VFW Post 7907.
The guest of honor Sunday will be Battalion Gunner Gunner McKinney, of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. Additional special guests will include members of American Legion Post 479, Fleet Reserve Association Branch 70, Miramar Military Officers Association of America, and a local Cub Scout troop. The Veterans Park cannon will be fired twice at the end of the ceremony.
The public is invited to the 11 a.m. ceremony and to a celebration that will follow at the VFW, 12342 Old Pomerado Rd. A free barbecue lunch will be served.
