Prime Poway Woman No. 7: Pat Kumpan

Kumpan is a longtime news reporter in Poway.

A resident of Poway since 1973, Pat Kumpan is most known for being the go-to reporter for 18 years.

Kumpan, a former Poway News Chieftain reporter who is now freelancing, has also been involved in other parts of the "City in the Country." She's been a Cub Scout leader, a school volunteer, and now works with the Safety Wellness Advisory Community Coalition, which she said is the most "rewarding organization."

Despite her involvement in the community, Kumpan is humbled by the Prime Poway Woman distinction.

"It's quite an honor to be nominated," she said. "There are many other women much more deserving of this recognition."
