Prime Poway Woman No. 30: Jan Jensen

Her compassion from being a nurse shows in her involvement in Poway.

It isn't a secret Jan Jensen loves Poway—just look at her credentials.

A resident of Poway for 18 years, Jensen was the director of the Tierra Bonita Chorus for seven years, served on the Poway High Choral Booster Board for five years, two of those years as president, and participated in different PTAs.

A registered nurse at Grossmont Hospital's intensive care unit, Jensen said she is most proud of her growing family.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

"To be totally honest, I didn’t even know there there was a Women’s History Month.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t look up to the women in history and recognize the contributions they made and the hardships they faced. There are many that have influenced me and inspired me to be a better woman myself."
