Prime Poway Woman No. 27: Beverly Andreos

Andreos has contributed 34 years of hard work and compassion to Poway.

After living in Poway for 34 years, to say Beverly Andreos has accomplished a lot may be an understatement.

From 1978 to 1992, she served as the executive director of Poway-based nonprofit For Parents and Kids Sake. Then, in 1997, she co-founded Parent Advocates Seeking Solutions, and from 1998-2002 she served on the board of San Diego-Imperial Counties Developmental Services Inc., which included a stint as president. And for 14 years, she's been a member of the Soroptimist International of Poway, an organization where she's also served as president.

And even though she'll also serve as a delegate to the Association of Regional Center Agencies in Sacramento this year, there's something far greater she's proud of: her family.

Andreos, who has been married for 45 years, has four children and seven grandchildren.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

"I value and maintain enormous pride and respect for women who have survived life’s struggles and persevered, especially Native American women who among other qualifications were: devotion to family, wisdom, spirituality, kindness, generosity and respect for Mother Earth, and pioneer women for their courage, strength, vision for a better life for themselves and their families, bravery, determination, and resiliency."
