Prime Poway Woman No. 26: Claire Bugado

Sports programs, PTAs and women's groups help complete Bugado's Poway bio.

Claire Bugado started a league of her own when she moved to Poway nearly 40 years ago.

A retired enrolled agent who has also had a tax preparation business for 10 years, Bugado is actively involved in Soroptimist International of Poway.

She's also been involved in little leagues, youth basketball programs, PTAs and even founded a woman's softball league.

The life she's lived, while looking up to women like her mother and Maya Angelou,  is what she is most proud of.

"I was able to accomplish a lot during my lifetime," she said.

What does Women's History Month mean to you?

"[It means] much deserved recognition for so many women who work so hard to fulfill their dreams and ambitions."
