Poway Library Makes Reading 'So Delicious'

Residents can drop off canned food at the Poway Library for those in need through Aug. 10.

Poway's Library is one of 11 County libraries partnering with the San Diego Food Bank to help bring awareness to hunger-affected people.

The effort is part of California Library Association's (CLA) initiative to collect 10,000 pounds of food now through Aug. 10 for those in need.

Each year, the CLA chooses a theme for the summer reading program, as well as a way to better the community. The 2013 Summer Reading Program's theme is "Reading is So Delicious," which ties into the state-wide food drive. The San Diego County Libraries are just one of the many California library units participating in the initiative to better serve the community, as well as bring attention to the issue of hunger.
