After earning her MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco, Marika Iler returned to her roots.
The Poway High School alumna is a residential mortgage adviser for American Capital Home Loans in Rancho Bernardo and a board member of Soroptimists International of Poway.
She’s also involved in the Rancho Santa Fe Business and Professional Women’s Association, San Diego Women Entrepreneurs and Women’s Business Networking.
Iler, who takes inspiration from her 89-year-old grandmother, said her biggest accomplishment is her career.
“I’ve continually been one of the top producing loan officers for each of the various companies that I have teamed up with,” she said. “I attribute this to the fact that I truly love what I do and care about my clients.”
When she isn’t working or volunteering, she enjoys hiking, kickboxing, skiing and traveling.
What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
“Women’s History Month is a celebration and reminder that equality among the sexes should be upheld by all. Women have played huge roles in history and society and this month is a way to honor them. While we have made great strides in this country, equality amongst the sexes still has a long way to go in many countries abroad.”
